Thirty Deals of November

October 31st, 2011

This month we want to do our own climbing frame version of the advent calendar. Except each day there will be a swing set at a hugely discounted price rather than some cheap chocolate. Much more fun we think. November is the new December!

Each day we will slash the price of a chosen climbing frame. If the deal that day doesn’t suit you then the one the next day may or the one the day after. However, you must act quick as these are deals for one day only. Once the deal is over so is the amazing price. It goes without saying that climbing frames and swing sets make truly amazing Xmas presents. They have the wow factor and can give enjoyment to your family for years to come.

We are able to give you an exclusive sneak peek at this week’s offers:

TUES 1st: Meadowvale
WEDS 2nd: Mayfield
THURS 3rd: Oriana Pavillion Swingset
FRI 4th: Stonybrook
SAT 5th: Stonybrook
SUN 6th: Stonybrook

Amazing prices lower than ever before.

Climbing Frames UK Celebrates Halloween

October 28th, 2011

Here at Climbing Frames UK we will use any excuse to celebrate. The best thing about working with outdoor play equipment, climbing frames, trampolines and other really cool stuff is that it is basically required that we have fun.

The Selwood cottage is up for grabs at the moment and all of our Facebook friends have the opportunity to win it. So we decided in the honour of Old Hallow’s Eve we would recruit the help of a five year-old Witch and seven year-old Vampire to help us decorate the playhouse.

Here are some before and after photos.

We would love to see you cover your climbing frames in cobwebs or transform your trampoline.

Climbing Frames – Wednesday Adventurer

October 26th, 2011

Along with our passion for outdoor play equipment and climbing frames we love adventure and fun. Every other Wednesday we want to tell you a little about the adventurers we admire. Getting the children out of the house and into the garden exploring their surroundings is a fantastic way of encouraging their imagination.

Adventurer Brian Jones would definitely have loved our climbing frames and outdoor play equipment as a child. In 1999 Brian and his companion Bertrand Piccard managed to pilot a balloon non-stop around the world for the very first time in history. The former RAF pilot and his Swiss team-mate took off on Monday 1st March, in a balloon called the Orbiter Breitling 3, and landed 21 days later.

They travelled a total of 46,666 km, the furthest a flight in history within the earth’s atmosphere by any type of flying machine. The balloon amazingly managed to reach altitudes of 38,507ft and speeds of 142 mph.

So what next for the balloon instructor and examiner? Brian is working on the Solar Impulse Project, a solar powered aeroplane which he hopes will travel around the world.

Who has been your favourite adventurer so far?

Climbing Frames UK are making friends fast

October 21st, 2011

We joined Facebook this summer with the hope of sharing our enthusiasm and love for outdoor play with people. Our climbing frames bring families joy for years and we wanted to connect with customers past and present to share in this. Whether it is a swing set, a trampoline or a wooden playhouse they all make a big difference to a household.

We would love to have as much input from our facebook friends as possible. We want to see pictures of your climbing frames newly built in your gardens, of your children practising on their trampoline or pottering around their new wooden playhouse. In just a few months we have grown our friends to a huge 445 and are so pleased to be hearing such positive feedback.

At the moment we have two great reasons to become our friend. The first is the Selwood Cottage competition, featured in our previous blog post, where any of our facebook friends can win the gorgeous wooden playhouse worth £399. The second reason is that we are willing to donate £200 to EACH, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospital, if we reach 1000 friends by xmas. We are more than confident that we will smash the target and simply wanted to raise as much awareness as possible for a worthy cause.

A little about the charity:

EACH provides much needed support and care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions. Being based near Bury st Edmunds, Suffolk we wanted to focus on a local charity such as EACH who provide the care and support where ever the family wish – in their homes, in hospital or in one of their hospices in Ipswich, Milton and Quindenham.

We’re sure you would agree this is a fantastic cause and hope everyone will help us contribute to the £4.8 million they need to raise this year alone.

Climbing Frames UK gets Live Chat

October 14th, 2011

We understand that perhaps buying over the internet isn’t always ideal. There may be immediate questions you have about purchasing a climbing frame or a trampoline that you need answering. Perhaps you may be at work and sharing the fact you are buying a swing set with the entire office isn’t ideal. We are experts in outdoor play equipment and would love to share as much helpful advice with you as we can. Live Chat is the perfect platform.

We have done our best to listen to your comments and feedback and hope that the installation of Live Chat will make buying your climbing frame much simpler and far more convenient. Live chat allows you to connect with real swing set experts instantly. It is not a computer generated response, it is our knowledgeable team thoughtfully answering any query you may have.

The beauty of Live Chat is that we are making the online buying process far more like a face to face retail experience (minus the queues, car park costs and un-cooperative children). Once you are on our site there will be an icon which you can click, once you have clicked on it you are instantly connected to us. We really know what we are talking about when it comes to outdoor play equipment and can advise you on the ideal purchase with regards to your garden size, number and age of children and any other specifications you may have.

Climbing Frames – Wednesday Adventurer

October 12th, 2011

We believe in encouraging adventure and exploration. We work hard to ensure that our climbing frames, play equipment, swings, trampolines do just that. We’re not sure whether he had a climbing frame or swing set himself, but Roald Amundsen was an inspirational explorer.

A fairly long time ago (1872) in Borge, Norway, Roald Engebreth Gravning Amundsen was born. As a teenager Roald had become fascinated with English explorer John Franklin and had dreamed one day of becoming an explorer himself. In 1899 he became a sea captain and in 1910 set sail for the North Pole, planning to be the first to reach it. However just before setting sail he received word that fellow explorer, Robert Peary had actually beat him to it. Not the type to be easily defeated Roald continued with his expedition, telling only his brother that the course had changed and they were now heading for the South Pole. On December 14th, 1911 Roald and his team reached their destination, beating a British team under Captain Scott by four weeks.

Roald Amundsen would buy: The Ridgeview

The Ridgeview £699

Roald is clearly not afraid of a little cold weather (temperatures get as low as -74 degrees Fahrenheit in the South Pole) so he would love any Climbing Frames UK playset as they can be used all year round. Playing in the snow is one of winter’s great joys. Many think a climbing frame is just for warmer months but it is great to get everyone in the garden when the snow falls too. The Ridgeview is fantastic value and has everything you could want from a climbing frame. A true adventurer needs monkey bars, rock wall, wavy slide, swings and a glider. In fact they would expect nothing less.

Climbing Frames – Weekend Special

October 7th, 2011

We pride ourselves on having an extensive and varied range of climbing frames and each weekend we like to treat everyone to a weekend special. The chosen playset this weekend is the Summerville. This is one of the largest most versatile playsets we do at Climbing frames UK. There is an open lower level playhouse with café style opening and a 3 position swing beam, meaning there is plenty of room for 2 belt swings and a glider.

Weekend Special Summerville

Weekend Special Summerville £899

Summerville

Summerville Climbing Frame

If you’re stuck for Xmas ideas (just 79 days to go) then the weekend special should be taken full advantage of. All our climbing frames are made from cedar wood and pre-stained a lovely red colour which will look great amongst the green of your garden. We think attention to detail is vital so there are lots of little homely finishing touches like windows, flower boxes and a café area. You can always ask other family members to buy some accompanying accessories like a telescope, binocular and a captain’s wheel which are also available on our website and can be easily screwed to the frame.

The slide is a 12ft spiral slide and is always a favourite with the children due to its size and fun colour. The wave rockwall, sun deck area and enclosed higher level playhouse are all fantastic features that the Summerville boasts. Because the playset is designed for children ages 3-10 this is a fantastic investment and will be used year after year.

The weekend special ends Monday 10 am. To purchase the Summerville go to http://www.climbingframesuk.com/

A Successful Shoot

October 5th, 2011

Never work with animals or children, so the saying goes.

Hanging out at the Selwood Cottage

Hanging out at the Selwood Cottage

The Selwood Cottage £399

The Selwood Cottage £399 - much plusher than most of our own houses.

On Friday we chose to ignore that little piece of advice and get ten (yes, really, ten) children down to a sunny location in Suffolk near Climbing Frames HQ. ‘God, why?’ I hear you scream. Well in the coming months we plan to launch a more interactive approach to our product. As a web based company we understand that people need as much information about a product before the commit to buying it. For some buying online can be a little scary so we want to offer reassurance that you are definitely making the right decision. The best way to do this is with product videos as well as still images. The videos give a 360 degree view of our climbing frames and other outdoor products, as well as showing how children play and interact with the toys. We hope this will give the peace of mind needed before purchasing.

Back to the day itself. One of our little ladies kept us waiting half an hour while she got changed (diva in the making), so we had a bit of a rush on our hands and trying to control that many children, surrounded by climbing frames and high on Friday afternoon sunshine is no mean feat. But we managed it. The biggest hit of the day was the Selwood Cottage children’s playhouse. The post box, the sink, the flowerpots (which were mainly used as hats) all kept our budding actors and actresses occupied long after the camera stopped rolling.

Head-Cam

Our little diva

Our little diva

We also pulled out our secret weapon – The head cam. We wanted to give you the rare chance to experience our play sets from a child’s point of view. The head cam (which looks a little like a camera popped on top of a bike helmet) was strapped to Sophie’s head whilst she explored several of the swing sets. A reluctant wearer at first, Sophie soon took her role as chief head cam wearer in her stride. After a few fun filled hours we were exhausted but also pleasantly surprised at how smoothly the potentially disastrous day had gone.

All aboard the sandboat

All aboard the sandboat £79

Perfect weather for a picnic

Perfect weather for a picnic - picnic table and 4 chairs £99

Whoever said ‘never work with animals or children’ clearly didn’t have climbing frames, sand pits and playhouses to keep them occupied.
