Product Features
The Stowe climbing frame has a 2-position swing beam which supports two belt swings. Our belt swings are great because they grip the hips perfectly, helping little ones get on and off easily and safely. As well as the two belt swings this set comes with a glider which can be easily swapped with one of the swings, thanks to the easy ‘clip-on, clip-off’ fixings. This is a fantastic way to increase the longevity of the set and keep your children interested for longer. The Stowe is part of the Balmoral Series which features a green vinyl roof with a sunburst.
The slatted rock wall leads up to a 120cm high play deck which has great details like the vinyl chalk wall. The play deck measures approximately 119cm by 90cm in area and is covered by a green, UV-resistant tarp roof with stylish sunburst detail to the front. The roof is a great way to keep children covered whether the sun is shining or not. Beneath the play deck is a sand play area which can be easily transformed with the help of a ground sheet and some sand.
As well as the added glider this frame also comes with a complementary picnic table which is stand alone and made from the same cedar wood as the frame. This added extra will come in very handy for breaks between all the running around as well as messy play activities. It’s also great fun for children to eat their lunch or dinner outdoors, and it saves having to drag them in from the garden when they are having so much fun.
The Stowe is manufactured from top quality cedar wood and comes pre-cut and pre-drilled to make the build as easy for you as possible. There is also an illustrated owner’s manual to show you exactly how to build the set. All you’ll need is basic DIY tools. Our Climbing Frames are all free standing and cementing them into the ground is unnecessary, but to provide added stability, the Stowe comes with a set of ground stakes, which fix it to the ground. Please note: the fixings and instruction manual for the Selwood fort and roof will all come in the Balmoral roof box.
This climbing frame is designed for children aged between 3 and 10 years of age and is tested (EN-71 & ASTM) to meet requirements for private residential use – this set is not suitable for commercial use.
The Stowe includes the following product features:
Straight Slide
Straight slide with an added wave for a thrilling descent! Our sides have extra high rails at the top of slide to help children get onto the slide and help prevent any falls. The bottom of the slide is flatter, to help children end with their feet (and not their bottoms!) on the ground. No more bumps and bruises and no more grass stains! The slides are made of durable, green plastic - a perfect colour choice during the summer as it won't attract the bugs! We have also reinforced the rear of our slides to make them extra strong, and to easily stand up to children running the wrong way up them!
Rockwall Ladder
This slatted rock wall ladder offers the best of both worlds for little climbers. For those who are feeling a little more adventurous, the moulded plastic climbing rocks are a natural choice for a daring climb. For those with a little less confidence, then the spaces between the ladder slats will provide an easier ascent to the top! The spaces between the slats are also easy to climb down - ideal if the queue for the slide is too long! Our rockwall ladders are a combination to ensure that all ages of children can enjoy them and maximise their use from the playset.
1.2m (4ft) High Deck
The 1.22m (4ft) play deck height refers to the distance from the ground to the floor of the deck. Therefore the higher the deck height the further from the ground the deck is, the longer the rockwall to get up, and the slide to ride down.
Which deck height is most suitable for my children?
We suggest that the taller your children are the higher your deck should be, and it is also important to remember that the higher the deck the more use your children will get out of the climbing frame as they get older.
The 4ft deck is our most popular deck height as it is a fantastic comprimise between being a sensible height for smaller or younger children, and still high enough to keep older children amused.
2-Child Glider
The glider swing allows two children to ride back-to-back and is compatible with all of our Selwood Products playsets. Brilliant news for those with a smaller garden but with more than two children! Naturally, it can also be used by just one child too! Made of yellow and green plastic, the glider complements your climbing frame wonderfully enabling multiple children to play together, and to offer a safe and secure swing to use before children can swing on their own normal swing seat.
Vinyl Roof
Climbing Frames UK range of playsets and climbing frames come with either a durable, water-resistant and UV-resistant tarp roof, or a fully wooden roof. The tarp's are usually found on smaller, cheaper playsets, and provide protection through the summer months from the sun so the kids can enjoy the warm weather without running the risk of getting burnt. The tarp is also water-resistant so the kids can take cover during scattered showers!
Sandpit Area
Climbing Frames UK have a huge range of playsets and wooden climbing frames with a sand pit area below the fort deck. Simply add a weed suppressant membrane and some bags of play sand and you'll have a fantastic sandbox for your children to play in.
Picnic Table
Picnic tables are great to include with a playset because they provide the opportunity to relax in addition to play. It's great to be able to stop for lunch without having to try and drag the kids into the house, and can provide opportunity to sit and talk, colour, paint and play cames with siblings or friends.
Chalk Wall
Drawing is the perfect way to encourage a child's creativity, and what better way than have a vinyl chalk wall on your playset from Climbing Frames UK! And with such a wonderful view as that from the top of the playhouse, who wouldn't want to draw it? The vinyl chalk wall is easy to wipe clean, so your little Monets and Rembrandts can keep their creative juices flowing!
Small Garden
A small garden doesn’t at all mean a climbing frame is an impossibility. To make your buying experience that much simpler we have suggested which climbing frames best suit which sized gardens. We completely understand that not everyone has acres and acres of land to fill with outdoor play equipment. It was important to us that we considered those with smaller gardens and because of that we have a range of climbing frames which are ideal for smaller spaces. They are more compact in size yet still have plenty of features to keep the little monsters fully entertained.
Medium Garden
Medium gardens make a great home for a whole host of our fabulous climbing frames. However, we do advise that you carefully consider the size of the garden you plan to put the climbing frame in before making your final decision. We have a fantastic range of climbing frames that are ideal for those with medium sized gardens. Climbing Frames UK truly believe you don’t need a huge outdoor space to get a playset full of exciting features.
Swings
Swings have been around forever and everyone remembers enjoying swings from their childhood, whether it be playing at the park, or a tyre or rope in the tree at home, we all seem to have fond memories. Playing with siblings and friends, swinging across ditches or spinning round-and-round.
When sat on, our flexible belt swing seats grip the hips and provide a comfortable and supportive seat for your child as they swing. They are also designed to clip on and clip off should you wish to swap them with either a baby bucket or a trapeze.
