Great Halloween activities that incorporate your frame!

Great Halloween activities that incorporate your frame!

At Climbing Frames UK we like to get into the spirit of festivities and we grab any chance of fancy dress whenever possible!

As Halloween is fast approaching we thought we would share some ideas on how you can incorporate your Climbing Frame into the celebration of ‘All Hallows Day’.

10548052_746835938697407_110855553874274184_oFancy Dress : You can’t even begin to celebrate the deadly day without fancy dress! The same goes for your climbing frame. Just a few simple touches can make a ghastly difference, here’s how we did it at CFUK – we added cobwebs and spiders to the corners and joints of the frames, we used different colours to make it really stand out (You can also add more creepy crawlies to really scare the neighbours). We also added a skeleton and pumpkin to boost that Halloween theme.

Party Games : You don’t just have to go trick or treating to get into the spirit of Halloween. A garden party can be a great way of having people over without getting the house too messy, especially if you have a climbing frame which can help you out with entertaining the kids. Not only can they play on them but you can use them as apparatus needed for the games. Here is a few games that you can play with the help of your frame.

Halloween Games

Doughnut on a string

Tie a delicious doughnut on a string and hang from the swing beam, you have a popular game that is appropriate for all ages. You can also decorate your doughnuts with green icing or jam to make it really gruesome.

Whoever eats the doughnut first wins!

Pop Goes the Pumpkin

Looking to kick off Halloween with a bang?  This version of a classic carnival game also makes a festive wall decoration for your frame, and bursting the confetti-and-candy-filled balloons in this Halloween party game will make everyone explode with laughter. If you want to make this more frightful you can add toy insects into the balloons instead of candy or even fill it with slime!

Bobbing for Apples

The classic Halloween game of bobbing for apples provides plenty of entertainment with splashing dunking and generally getting a bit wet!

To keep all that water in one area the bottom of the fort may be an ideal location for this if it is opened planned, or even at the cafe area so the kids have somewhere to sit whilst doing it.

Mummy Wrap

This game will leave you all wrapped up!

Divide your party-goers into teams of two, and give each a roll of toilet paper, white crepe paper, or fabric. At the sound of the music, one team member must wrap the other from head to toe (leaving the head free and not binding the arms to the body.) Once completely wrapped, the “mummy” must run to touch the climbing frame before the others.

Eerie Piñata

This is a great pre-party craft that doubles as a game. Have your kids help you with this easy-to-make piñata, fill it with candy and small toys, and decorate it as a spooky ghost or jack-o’-lantern. At the party hang it from the swing beam and have everyone take a swing until it breaks, and then go to town collecting the loot.

We hope that these ideas help you have the most hideous, monstrous and vile Halloween ever!
